History of the Drink
The Red Snapper cocktail has a rich history that can be traced back to the early 20th Century when it was first created by Fernand Petiot, a bartender at the New York Bar in Paris. Originally made with Gin, Tomato Juice, and a variety of spices and seasonings, the cocktail was served as a hangover cure for American expats in Paris.
The Red Snapper was an instant hit among the expat community in Paris, and over time, the recipe evolved to include vodka instead of Gin. As the drink's popularity grew, it eventually became known as the Bloody Mary, a name that has endured to this day.
