Father’s Day Cocktail Inspiration

With Father’s Day just past in some of parts the world, here is a collection of cocktails inspired by the occasion of toasting to distinguished and discerning dads everywhere. Created by acclaimed bartenders Tim Philips, Manabu Ohtake and Erik Lorincz, these celebration cocktails bring out the rich, complex characters of premium Whiskies using flavor accents like ginger, orange, walnut and a variety of teas.

1.5 oz. JOHNNIE WALKER Blue Label
.25 oz. sugar syrup (choice of mandarin, raisin, clove, popcorn, cinnamon, honey, orgeat, sugar, hazelnut)
2 dashes bitters (choice of Angostura, Peychaud's, Absinthe, Orange, Cherry chocolate)
2 cubes flavored ice (choice of sweet tea, smokey tea, sherry wood tea and American oak)

Glass: Martini
Garnish: Depends...
Method: Stirred, served up

Glass: Mate teapot
Garnish: Orange zest, mint leaf, vanilla stick
Method: Add THE SINGLETON of Glen Ord, marmalade and bitters to a mate pot and mix well using an electric hand mixer. In a separate glass, add mate tea leaves to hot water and let steep to release the flavor and aroma. Pour into the mate pot. Add crushed ice and stir.

1 slice fresh ginger root (thumbnail sized)
3 oz. JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL Blended Scotch Whisky
1.25 oz. ginger liqueur
1 oz. agave nectar blended with brewed matcha tea (2:1)
5 oz. shots Lapsang Souchong tea
1.5 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Glass: Toddy
Garnish: Lemon zest twist
Method: Mix ingredients and then heat using steam wand from espresso machine.
