MEET THE SMALL TEAM OF EXPERT WHISKY MAKERS BEHIND THE WORLD’S LEADING SCOTCH[1]

More than 200 years ago we first threw open the doors to a small grocery store in Scotland for our founder, John Walker. Those were the first steps on the Johnnie Walker journey that led to a new future for Scotch whisky, steps that generations of whisky makers have followed in since.

Today, our small team of expert whisky makers, led by Master Blender Jim Beveridge, continues that journey, continually pushing at the boundaries of what’s possible in Scotch whisky and crafting a new future for Scotch and Johnnie Walker.

Meet the people who help to tell the Johnnie Walker story around the world - blenders, brand ambassadors and world-leading bartenders - the people who continue the Johnnie Walker journey today and into tomorrow.

Emma has a background in Organic Chemistry and has held a passion for flavor and the science behind it from a young age. For more than a decade, she has been a vital member of the small Johnnie Walker team of 12 expert whisky makers based in Scotland. In her role, she ensures the consistency and quality that the world’s leading Scotch whisky has long been associated with.

Emma says: "Our small team works hard to ensure that the Johnnie Walker Black Label you’re tasting will always have the right quality and character and will taste the same around the world. We do this with a constantly evolving inventory of casks: we bring the individual casks of whisky together in different ways to create the right flavor. We work with great craftspeople from every part of the Scotch industry to make this happen – farmers, maltsters, coopers, distillery managers, we work with everyone to make the best Scotch possible."
