This cocktail is named after an artillery gun known for its kick. It is said to have been created by Harry MacElhone (of Harry’s New York Bar in Paris) for returning WWI fighter pilots.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS

Tanqueray No. Ten 30 ml
Fresh Lemon Juice 15 ml
Caster Sugar Teaspoon
Champagne Brut Top up

BAR TOOLS

Cocktail shaker
30 ml jigger
Champagne flute
Bar spoon

PREPARATION:

  1. Measure Tanqueray No. Ten and lemon juice in jigger and add to cocktail shaker with ice and caster sugar
  2. Shake vigorously
  3. Strain into chilled flute glass and top with Champagne
  4. Garnish with lemon peel and serve
