The Deconstructed Paloma with Don Julio 70

The Paloma is another traditional cocktail in Jalisco. However, this cocktail is more popular than the Cazeula across the other parts of Mexico. You can add your own twist to this cocktail depending on what way you want to drink it - you can bring out the spicy side of the liquid by pairing it with orange and chilli powder or even its sweet and sour side by pairing it with honeyed orange. Don Julio 70 pairs well with any flavour thanks to its vanilla notes.

Serves:

Ingredients

60ml Don Julio 70 

0.5 an orange

0.5 a grapefruit

1 Pinch of Sea salt 

1  Pinch of Chilli powder

Equipment

1 tumbler

1 plate

method

  1. Pour 60ml Don Julio 70 into a tumbler to serve on the rocks

  2. Cut up the slices of orange and grapefruit

  3. Serve the slices on a plate with your seasoning of choice to pair with the serve
