50ml Gordon's Elderflower

200ml Tonic Water

1 Strawberry (Garnish)

1 Ice Scoop

1 Jigger

1 Balloon Glass

1 Tongs

method

  1. Add all ingredients to a Balloon Glass filled with Cubed Ice.

  2. Garnish with a Sliced Strawberry.

History of the Drink

When British soldiers stationed in India in the 19th Century were looking for a way to take quinine, a bitter substance that was used to cure malaria, they invented the gin and tonic. Water and gin were combined with quinine to make a revitalising and therapeutic beverage. The cocktail gradually rose in favour among British expats and spread to other parts of the world.
