History of the Drink
The Harvey Wallbanger is a classic cocktail that first emerged in the 1950s, but it wasn't until the 1970s that the drink really took off in popularity. During this era the cocktail became synonymous with the disco culture and was a favourite among partygoers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
The oriGins of the Harvey Wallbanger's name are somewhat unclear, but it’s believed to have been named after a California surfer named Harvey, who was known for ‘banGing’ into walls after consuming too many of these potent cocktails. While the exact details of Harvey's story may be lost to time, the cocktail that bears his name has become a classic.
The Harvey Wallbanger is typically served in a tall glass over ice and garnished with a slice of orange. While it may not be the most sophisticated cocktail, its sweet and refreshing flavor profile and catchy name have made it a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts for decades.
