Originally known as 'Mexican El Diablo' when the drink first appeared in 1946.

Ingredients
45ml Don Julio Repasado
15ml Crème de Cassis
15ml Fresh Lime Juice
140ml Ginger Ale
Equipment
1 Highball glass
1 Ice Scoop
1 Jigger
1 Cocktail shaker
1 Hawthrone Strainer
1 Tongs
method
Shake all ingredients, except for the Ginger Ale, with Ice.
Strain into an Ice-filled Highball Glass.
Garnish with a Lime Wheel.
Alcohol content: 16g per serve

The El Diablo cocktail gets its name from the Spanish word for "devil." The drink is traditionally made with tequila, but vodka or rum can also be used. It is usually served in a tall glass with a slice of lime.

The El Diablo cocktail is believed to have originated in Mexico in the 1940s. It was created by a man named Don Javier Delgado Corona, who owned a bar in the city of Tijuana. The drink became popular with American tourists and eventually made its way north of the border.
