40ml Bulleit 95 Rye Whiskey
10ml Dry Vermouth
10ml Sweet Vermouth
3 Dashes of Peach Bitters
1 A Rinse of Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky
1 Peach Slice (Garnish)
Equipment
1 Martini Glass
1 Ice Scoop
1 Jigger
1 Cocktail Shaker
1 Hawthorne Strainer
1 Fine Strainer
1 Tongs
method
Rinse a Martini Glass with Lagavulin.
Shake all the liquid ingredients with Ice.
Strain into a chilled Martini Glass.
Garnish with a Peach Slice.

History of the Drink
The Olean, New York, Sunday Morning Herald published a story in September 1882, and is believed to the earliest recorded written mention of the Manhattan. A combination of whisky, vermouth and bitters only recently became popular following a statement from the same article regarding the name of this mixture. 'It went under numerous titles - Manhattan Cocktail, Turf Club Cocktail, and Jockey Club Cocktail'.
