Interesting Facts

The Sea Breeze is a member of the "Cape Cod" family of cocktails, which includes drinks that are made with vodka and cranberry juice.

History of the Drink

The Sea Breeze has been enjoyed for almost a century. Its origins can be traced back to the early 1920s or 1930s when it was first invented in the United States. The cocktail was created as a variation of the Cape Codder – a popular drink made with vodka and cranberry juice.

To create the Sea Breeze, bartenders added grapefruit juice to the classic Cape Codder recipe, giving the drink a refreshing and tangy twist.

One of the reasons for the Sea Breeze's enduring popularity is its versatility. The drink can be made with a variety of spirits, including vodka, gin or tequila, making it a ‘go-to’ choice for those who enjoy experimenting with different ingredients. Additionally, the Sea Breeze can be served both as a classic cocktail or as a punch, making it a perfect drink for large gatherings or parties.
