Manhattan - Sweet

A popular origin story suggests that the drink was concocted for a banquet in 1890 at the Manhattan Club NY.

RECIPE:


Bulleit Bourbon 30 ml
Sweet Vermouth 20 ml
Maraschino Liqueur 10 ml
Angostura Bitters 1-2 dashes

PREPARATION:

  1. Pour ingredients into mixing glass with ice
  2. Stir with bar spoon
  3. Strain and serve ‘straight up’ into a chilled cocktail glass
  4. Garnish with a cherry

Rye whiskey may be used as an alternative to Bourbon.
