Ingredients

1.75oz Smirnoff Raspberry

2.5oz  Lemon-Lime Soda

0.25oz Lime Juice

1  Lime Wheel (Garnish)

Equipment

1 Ice Scoop

1 Jigger

1 Martini Glass

1 Cocktail Shaker

1 Hawthorne Strainer

1 Fine Strainer

1 Tongs

method

  1. Shake all ingredients except the Soda with ice.

  2. Fine strain into a Martini glass.

  3. Top up with Lemon-Lime Soda.

  4. Garnish with a Lime wheel.

History of the Drink

The drink was created by British Royal Navy surgeon Sir Thomas Gimlette in the 19th century. It was oriGinally made with Gin and Lime Juice, and was used as a way to prevent scurvy among sailors. The recipe eventually made its way to shore, where it became a popular cocktail, where bartenders tweaked the recipe making it much more palatable.
