MARTINEZ Recipe

Often mistaken as the predecessor of the classic cocktail Martini, the Martinez is said to have been invented in 1874. The recipe for this cocktaildrink was published in Jerry Thomas’ ‘The Bon Vivant’s Companion”

COCKTAIL RECIPE

Cocktail Ingredients:

Tanqueray No. Ten 30 ml
Sweet Vermouth 15 ml
Orange Bitters Dash
Maraschino Liqeur 15 ml
BAR TOOLS

Jigger
Bar spoon
Cocktail strainer

PREPARATION:
  1. Measure Gin using jigger and pour cocktail ingredients into mixing glass with ice
  2. Stir with bar spoon
  3. Pour through cocktail strainer and serve ‘straight up’ into a chilled cocktail glass
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
